2023 marks the 19th anniversary of the Thomas Memorial Fly In, Wyoming’s largest grass roots fly in. The event spans two days, September 9th and 10th, with contests, demonstrations, food and good family fun! Last year’s event saw over forty planes from several states. Glendo Ranch Rodeo
The Real, Rough and Reality of the everyday cowboy lifestyle comes to life in the 3 hour long event every July 4th weekend in the town of Glendo. This event is held at the Glendo rodeo arena on the south east side of town. Stop by and see what the grit of a cowboy is made of and the athleticism of the horses they ride and the cattle they work. Make sure you bring your lawn chair and sunscreen and enjoy a nice hot American afternoon in wonderful Wyoming. Glendo Offers
The Glendo area offers many points of interest and attractions: The California Trail, The Oregon Trail, and The Mormon Trail all passed south of Glendo. Sightseers have a seemingly endless supply of beauty in the mountains and canyons, rolling plains, sparkling streams, and Glendo Lake.
Laramie Peak and the Medicine Bow Mountains
Glendo is the gateway to the scenic Medicine Bow Mountains and Laramie Peak, a beacon to wary travelers and the birthplace of the Laramide Orogeny, a period of mountain building in western North America which began 70-80 million years ago. Miles of trails for hiking, biking and trail riding are located in the boundaries of the Medicine Bow National Forest, as well as improved campgrounds and primitive camp sites.
Glendo, Wyoming
Glendo is a community small in number yet Big In Heart! Incorporated on May 20, 1922, the entire Glendo area is rich in history. Glendo began as one of the first of five telegraph stations of the Overland Stage Express at the Horseshoe Stage Station. The town was established at its present location when the railroad came through.
Glendo State Park
