Glendo is the gateway to the scenic Medicine Bow Mountains and Laramie Peak, a beacon to wary travelers and the birthplace of the Laramide Orogeny, a period of mountain building in western North America which began 70-80 million years ago. Miles of trails for hiking, biking and trail riding are located in the boundaries of the Medicine Bow National Forest, as well as improved campgrounds and primitive camp sites.
